Thirty-eight years ago, Kg Kinarut welcomed the arrival of Janrywine J. Lusin into the world. Now armed with five delightful children and a smashing hit single, Macam di KK, Janrywine is ready to step into the next part of his journey — serving the youth of Sabah through his late afternoon segment from 1pm-4pm with Macam di KK.
When asked what his biggest fears for his children would be when they enter their youth, he responded, “That they will not feel that comforting sense of belonging the way I did when I was a child. I fear they will not want to understand and know about their own Kadazan Dusun heritage.”
“The issues I see among our youth today is the lack of long-term vision, preparation and spirit. Discipline and self-motivation are crucial traits to build success.”
Janrywine hopes that Kupikupifm will be a daily dose of motivation for young kids all over Sabah to push their own boundaries further and further everyday. He hopes to fan their flames of curiosity and spirit. Janrywine added, “I want to be a friend — someone who is able and willing to help.”
“I want Kupikupifm to be a household name. I want people to find companionship through Kupikupifm and realize that we are here to listen to both the hardships and celebrations.”
